A lovely 60/40 jacket from Sierra Designs. Bob Swanson and George Marks founded Sierra Designs in 1965. The 60/40 jacket was born in 1968 and its name is a reference to a fabric that is 60% cotton and 40% nylon. This approach gave breathability to the jacket and helped to keep off the rain as previously jackets where a cotton polyester mix and this let the rain in.
Loads of technical advancements are found on the jacket and the zip on the back gives you storage and tells you its a 60/40.
In excellent condition and I’d say it’s an early 1970’s model.
